i FINALLY RAN HERE. YASSSS i wanted to go here so badly. i have no clue how i found about it but it was on my yelp saved for a while. but i never got around to going to it because i knew i would be walking and when i think about walking or running it makes me not want to do it. but eventually i was like yup i will do it because i needed to buy gifts. i wanted to time it right so i could go to this tres leche place too but i went on a sunday and theyre closed there but all the reviews says it is awesome so i will probably go there another time. but i probably looked like a weirdo going in because i was sweaty af and out of breath but i got there and ordered the chop cheese hero sub. and then i waited like maybe 15 minutes for it to come out and i was just standing there zoning out. then i got the food and i was like i can't be messy and eat while walking so i found a park to eat at. bro. it tastes exactly like an in-n-out burger. im not even gonna lie. like wow. no wonder everyone loves it. it's literally the closest thing they can get to an in-n-out burger without coming to the west coast. like wow! but yeah that was a solid sandwich and it filled me up to continue my run to bath and body works. what an interesting day that was and i procrastinated so badly by running and going out instead of staying in and studying. i wouldn't get that chopped cheese again because im fortunate enough to have in-n-out at home but i understand the appeal and honestly it was really good. 5 stars.

This was my first chopped cheese and I think it will spoil all the other ones (it's the OG, right?). Seriously, I fantasize about this chopped cheese. That's how good it was. I've told all my friends in California about it. The flavors just meld together so perfectly and the ketchup really makes it with the umami acidity. You MUST TRY!

I had my very first chopped cheese at the original deli where it was created--truly a New York staple! This iconic deli is open 24/7, and we stopped by early in the afternoon on a Friday. While the wait for our order was a bit long, it was absolutely worth it. The staff were really friendly, and there was a steady crowd of people also waiting for their food. After grabbing our sandwiches, we headed to Thomas Jefferson Park, a great nearby spot to sit and enjoy the meal. The park was peaceful and made for a nice setting, but if you're up for a longer walk, the Harlem Meer in Central Park is another fantastic option. As for the chopped cheese itself, it was delicious! The sauce had a flavor reminiscent of In-N-Out sauce, but of course, this is a sandwich, not a burger. Definitely a must-try experience if you're in the area or want to try the OG chopped cheese!

I just had a chopped cheese at like 1a. Despite the hour, no I wasn't drunk, and it was incredible. It wanted to try it for years, and it lived up to all the expectations. It's a special sandwich. Gooey, crispy, cheesy, crusty, fresh. The dude was super friendly, and the price was also right. Will return with friends.

One of my top foods to try in NY was a chopped cheese and I can say that this is definitely worth it. I got my chopped cheese on a Euro and that toasty bread with the cheese. Everything I dreamed it would be. Service was great and there was no line. Would come again!

Hubs and I came for the infamous chopped cheese and my oh my was it worth it. It's essentially a chopped up cheeseburger inside a sandwich roll, pressed and slightly toasted. The chopped ingredients muddle well together creating a creamy texture which just works with the fresh crunchy lettuce. Typing this makes me want one right now. It's roughly $7, takes around 15 minutes to make upon getting the order, and there is no seating indoor or outdoor which is a slight bummer.

The home of the Chopped Cheese. The famous Haiji's where it was created. Seen this place so many times in videos. And finally got to try it out myself. I've had chopped cheese sandwiches before but the original is just too good. Made on a sesame bread roll. filled with ground beef, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, and mayo. Pressed like a panini to give it that crisp crunch. Located inside of the deli where you can pick up bottles of soft drinks and other convenience store items. This is a great sandwich and glad that it's getting the love it deserves. Comfort food at it's finest Recommendation: The original chopped cheese sandwich
